    Seven miles west of town is the SCCA Thunderhill Raceway Park open year-round (530)934-5588. Thunderhill is a 2-mile,3-mile, and new 2014 5-mile, 36 foot wide motorsports track for super karts, super bikes, sports cars, open wheel racers, and high performance street cars.     Willows is called the "Gateway to the Mendocino National Forest", so the Forestry department headquarters are housed here.     The Snow Mountains, Yolla Bolly Wilderness, Alder Springs Ridge, Rattlesnake Ridge, and Sanhedrin Ridge are close by. Stony Gorge Reservoir, Black Butte Reservoir, and Sacramento River are within a half hour drive.

  • Historical

    Glenn County was incorporated on March 5, 1891. The County seat, Willows, was created March 11, 1891.


    Willows is home of the Willows Museum Society which is housed in the former Willows Library. That building was built in 1911 as one of the Andrew Carnegie projects. The museum is open every Thursday, Saturday and Sunday from 1:00pm - 4:00pm.


    The Willows Public Library services the smallest Carnegie Library in the world -- Bayliss Library.

     

    Our Historic Courthouse, Memorial Hall, Post Office, and Masonic Building are all located in Willows Downtown District.
